Gamec <br />Mayor, The City of Ramsey <br /> <br />Robert Zeller, MCCB Staff <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />THE ANOKA./ CHAMPLIN / RAMSEY CABLE SERVICE TERRITORY <br /> <br />This is to inform you that the proposal submitted to the Minnesota Cable Comm. unicat- <br />ions Board (MCCB) on January 21, 1980 by Harmon & Company of Englewood, Colorado <br />for establishment of a cable service territo~ (CST) consisting of the corporate <br />limits of Anoka, Champlin and Ramsey was favorably received by the Board at its <br />meeting on Hay 9, 1980. Therefore, the Anoka / Champlin / Ramsey Cable Service <br />Territory has been established, and the named municipalities may proceed into <br />the next steps in the cable communications franchising process. <br /> <br />It should be.emphasized that Board approval in this matter does not constitute a pre- <br />sumption that the proposer will be the successful applicant for a franchise or 'fran- <br />chises to serve the territory, nor are the municipalities above named constrained <br />from granting more than one franchise in order to provide service to substantially <br />alt parts of the territory approved. <br /> <br />This is to also advise you that a representative of The City of Andover notified <br />the MCCB on May 9, 1980 concerning its desire to be included in the Anoka / Champlin <br />/ Ramsey CST; such a municipality may submit to the Board a proposal for' expansion <br />of an established CST under 4 HCAR 4.225-(Iqinnesota Code of Agency Rules)~ All <br />affected communities will be notified in the event such a prdposal is submitted, and <br />will be given opportunities to make comments on the proposal to the Board. <br /> <br />Enclosed for your information is a copy of the HCCB Staff report and recommendations <br />concerning your CST dated May 6, 1980, which also includes a copy of a memorandum <br />dated April 16, 1980 from Mr. Roger Israel of the Metropolitan Council to the Council's <br />Human Resources Committee. <br /> <br />MCCB staff will be pleased to continue to assist the cities of Anoka, Champlin and <br />Ramsey as they proceed through steps in the franchising process.
