Councilman Reimann said we are very strict in how we want this type of business <br />handled and we don't look upon this as something we need in the City of <br />Ramsey. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said we haye a lot of these t2-pes of business in the city <br />already and it would haYe to be in an enclosed area. <br /> <br />Mr. Greg Smith, 15250 Lagoon, was present and he complained about the people <br />who own 1 and 1½ acre lots and use them to set up businesses and haYe <br />junk cars, debris and other unsightly items around their property. He <br />wanted to know what could be done about this. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said if a business is set up in the city but not run in the <br />city, a license for it is not ~eeded. There have been a lot of businesses <br />of this type that have been in the city for 20 to 30 years. <br /> <br />Mr. Smith asked if these people have a right to make a slum area out of <br />their properties. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said a complaint could be filed and the city would issue them <br />a violation of city ordinance letter. <br /> <br />Mr. Lyle Daugherty, 15157 Yakima, was present and complained about the person <br />who laid black dirt and seed during restoration of~his road and left <br />imprints on some of the driveways and damaged some of the' driYeways, <br />He said he felt the soil was not sufficient to grow grass, weeds maybe, <br />but not grass. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said that these things are covered by the Performance Bond <br />in the contract and all damages would have to be taken care of. <br /> <br />Ms. Sue Wagner, 15001 Garnet, sai'd she would like the Council to look into and <br />consider the possibility of turning the landfill site int° a solid waste <br />disposal plant. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle asked that two items be added to the Agenda under <br />Old Business: 1) Appointment of a Fiscal Agent and 2) Approval of Plans <br />and Specifications for/projects approved by the Council for street improvements. <br /> calling for bid for <br />Motion by Councilman Sorteberg and seconded by Councilman Reimann to approve <br />the Agenda with the additions. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, CounCilmen Sorteberg, Reimann and <br />Cox. Voting no-None. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />Regular Council Meeting of April 22, 1980 <br /> <br />Councilman Cox noted a correction on page 10, last paragraph, which should <br />read, "Attorney Goodrich said this could not be done" instead of, <br />"Attorney Goodrich said this could be done". <br /> <br />C/May 13, 1980 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
