TO: Mayor and City Council

FROM: City Administrator

RE: Council New Business

Enclosure (D3-a)
( DS-e )

Excerpt from City Code regarding driveways
Letter from the U.S. Census Department
Information on assessment regarding Bertha Mae Sn~th
Tax statement on Bertha Mae Smith property
Sketch plan for gas pomps at 6013 - 167th Avenue
(Moroz Hardware)
Proposed legislative policies for 1981

CASE #1:

CASE #2:

DOUBLE DRIVE]fAY TO SERVE A RESIDENTIAL LOT FOR COUNCIL

DISCUSSION:

Council at their May 13 or May 19 meeting requested the
zoning requirement of allowing only one driveway be put on
the agenda for discussion. Please refer to enclosure (D3-a)
excerpts from the City Code which cover this issue to be dis-
cussed.

I have highlighted the subparagraphs (5), (6), and (7) as
all of these have come up at different times for discussion.

However, in regards to subparagraph (6) above which restriQts
each residence to a simple driveway, the only feasible reason
for this in your ordinance is the fact that one time the City
paid for the driveway culverts in the residential area and
you probably restricted it to one culvert per resident.

CITY OF RAMSEY IN REGARDS TO 1980 U.S. CENSUS:

Enclosure (D3-b) contains a letter from the U.S. Census De-
partment spelling how they would like for each of the govern-
mental units to check for census accuracy in their respective
communities.

Consequently, Council should consider contracting/hiring
an individual on a part time basis to accomplish this mission.
The City Staff do not have the time to do this job. The per-
son would/should have a good knowledge of 'the City.
