June 4, 1D80

Mr. and Ers. Nugent
6165 Green Valley Head
Anoka, EN 55303

Dear Ur. and Mrs. ~ugent:

Questions have been raised in recent days by officials from the
City o~ ~amsey concerning the status of a feedlot permit for
your swine operation. This letter ts intended to clarify the
status of that permit for you and the city.

My understanding is that your feedlot is in violation of an
existing city ordinance which prohibits an operation of that
type at your location. The Minnesota Pollution Control A~ency
staff is awaiting a determination by the City on whether your
feedlot should be allowed to continue operation. Should the
City rule against your operation, there would be no need for a
Permit. If the City allows your feedlot to continue in opera-
tion, the staff will draft a Per~tt with conditions epecifytng
control measures necessary to correct the pollution hazard
represented by the existing operation.

If you 'have any questions regarding this matter, feel free to
contact me.

Sincerely

Dale B.
