REPORT ON THE FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR <br />YAKIMA STREET N.W., TONTO STREET N.W., SALISH CIRCLE, <br />177TH AVENUE N.W., 178th LANE N.W., AND 179th AVENUE N.W. <br /> <br />Scope: <br /> <br />The purpose of this report is to discuss the feasibility of providing bituminous <br />surfacing for the above referenced streets. This report also provides a cursory <br />review of the existing drainage system Within the project area. <br /> <br />The project area lies within the NE¼ and the NE¼'of the SE~ of Section 1, Town- <br />ship 32 North, Range 25 West, City of Ramsey, Anoka County, Minnesota. <br /> <br />The project lies west and south of C.S.A.H. #7 and north of the Rum River as <br /> <br />shown on Exhibit A. <br /> <br />Existing Conditions: <br /> <br />The present street network with the exception of Yakima Street N.W. consists of <br /> <br />a rural street section with a gravel or sand surface approximately 24 to 28 feet <br />in width. Yakima Street N.W. lying south of 179th Avenue N.W. consists of a 14 <br />foot sand roadway. Soil borings of the area indicated that this section of road <br />was lying on two. to three feet of organic material. Also the portion of 178th <br /> <br />Lane N.W. lying between Salish Circle and C.S.A.H. No. 7 was lying on approximately <br />two f~et of organic material. An inspection of the area revealed that the existing <br />drainage facilities are generally adequate with some culvert cleaning, ditch <br />cleaning, and a culvert at the intersection of Tonto Street N.W. and 179th Avenue <br />N.W. In review of the topography, we found that the area basically drains to the <br />south towards the Rum River. However, there are numerous ponding areas that <br />assimilate the storm water run-off into the ground by percolation. While the <br /> <br /> <br />
