MEMO <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />8/7/2000 <br /> <br />Economic Development Authority (EDA) <br /> <br />Megan Wald, Community Development Assistant <br /> <br />Staff Updates <br /> <br />Sauter Property: <br /> <br />The City Administrator completed negotiations with Mr. Sauter for the sale of his property on <br />July 14, 2000. Negotiations included Mr. Sauter receiving both cash and land for his property <br />on Sunfish lake Blvd. The land Mr. Sauter would receive could be used for his business and <br />the two renters, Kobus Trucking and Vadnais Installation, on his Sunfish Lake Blvd. property. <br />Three new buildings will be constructed for these companies consisting of approximately <br />96,000 square feet. All transactions will be defined in a development agreement that will be <br />presented to the City Council on September 12, 2000. <br /> <br />Marketing efforts have been underway for the Sunfish Lake Blvd. property and the City has <br />received development proposals by Dennis Sharp to developed at least two facilities in the <br />Sauter property. Mr. Sharp hopes to begin development in the Fall of 2000. The City is also <br />discussing proposals with Kinslesy Coach. <br /> <br />Maken Property: <br /> <br />The City Council authorized Staffto proceed with condemnation if negotiations failed during <br />the meetings of June 27, 2000. Negotiations fell through and condemnation papers were filed <br />the week of July 31, 2000. The Maken property will be filled to capacity due to the expressed <br />interested from potential developers. <br /> <br /> <br />
