Ramsey Fire Department Annual Report <br /> Given I ncidents <br /> Mutual Aid ANDOVER 1 <br /> ANOKA-CHAMPLIN 9 <br /> Mutual aid between fire departments is an important ELK RIVER 2 <br /> concept in providing adequate response while maintaining OAK GROVE 2 <br /> an affordable cost for operation. <br /> ST. FRANCIS 2 <br /> In 2016 the Ramsey Fire Department came to the aid of 5 O a 16 <br /> fire departments a total of 16 times. In return, the City of <br /> Ramsey received aid from 5 fire departments 7 times. The <br /> chart to the right indicates the cities included in the Received Incidents <br /> mutual aid. The number of times a neighboring ANDOVER 6 <br /> department assisted can be higher than the total of 7 ANOKA-CHAMPLIN 5 <br /> requests as multiple departments assisted on any one call. ELK RIVER 1 <br /> OAK GROVE 5 <br /> ST. FRANCIS 1 <br /> 7 <br /> Ramsey/Nowthen Service Fees <br /> Ramsey and Nowthen continued to maintain a strong working relationship for the purpose of <br /> increasing service capacity and decreasing response time, and reducing the cost of providing fire and <br /> rescue services to both communities <br /> Per the Joint Powers Agreement, Ramsey and <br /> Nowthen pay fees for apparatus and staff for <br /> training and response for each community. In <br /> or <br /> 2016, Ramsey fees totaled $8600 for apparatus. <br /> Nowthen reimbursement for staff training and <br /> L In, <br /> meetings totaled $16,080.50, staff costs for <br /> response to Nowthen totaled $16,385, and <br /> apparatus costs totaled $13,000. It should be 31 RAMSEY <br /> noted that per the JPA Nowthen also paid $3708 <br /> to the Relief Association, $6416 for _ <br /> Administrative costs, $4500 for an Assistant <br /> Chief rate, $2520 for a Lieutenant rate, and <br /> $6138 for Workman's Compensation Insurance <br /> for firefighters at the Nowthen Station. <br /> Page 13 <br />
