Ramsey Fire Department Annual Report <br /> Training, Conferences, and Schools <br /> Recognizing the need to always remain solid on core skills, as well as training rigorously on those that <br /> are high hazard/low frequency,we are able to minimize risk potential as well as ensure that we <br /> continue to provide the best quality care and hazard mitigation for our citizens and visitors. This is important in that new ideas and concepts <br /> are introduced and adopted into the fire department operations. Fire department staff attending <br /> conferences and schools are expected to train staff and share concepts with other staff. <br /> ➢ The Fire Department took advantage of training reimbursement offered by the Minnesota Board of <br /> Firefighter Training and Education to bring in outside instructors for training. <br /> ➢ Allina Transportation provides Emergency Medical Services training to the firefighters on a <br /> monthly basis. The session included training on the <br /> different modules in the system. <br /> ➢ Command staff attended the pilot Fire Officer Academy course. This course focused on the <br /> following subjects: leadership, professional development, communications, legal issues, strong <br /> emphasis on human resources,budget and finance, change management, strategic planning, <br /> governmental relations, and marketing. <br /> Page 14 <br />
