5. Major Char~ges to Recreation Open Space Metropolitan Development Guide <br /> <br />Policy Plan <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle asked the council to review the proposed <br />changes in the present Recreation Open Space Development Guide Policy <br />Plan to see if they like what is proposed in regard to our parks and <br />recreation land and if the council agrees with their proposal, to <br />go to the public hearing and tell them what they like and don't like. <br />He said this issue will be discussed at the regular council meeting on <br />the 24th of'June, 1980. <br /> <br />6. Case of Robert Nugent, 6165 Green Valley Road <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich said Mr. Nugent called him after he went home from <br />the Council Meeting tonight and said he would like to work something out <br />with his neighbors. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the council to direct City Attorney Goodrich to <br />work with the Nugents and their neighbors in resolving the problems <br />regarding the Nugent's hobby farm operation. <br /> <br />7. Anoka Fire Department Request for Bingo and Beer License <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Sorteberg and seconded by Councilman Cox to grant a <br />permit for Bingo and also a license to sell beer.from 12:00 PM to 6:30 PM <br />on Sunday, September 7, 1980 to the Anoka Fire Dept. Inc. for their 22nd <br />Annual Fire Dept. Trap Shoot at the St. Anthony Gun Club. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Councilmen Reimann, Sorteberg, Mickelson and Cox. <br />Voting no-None. <br /> <br />8. Public Hearing MetroCouncil Regarding Policy Plan Juvenile Justice <br /> <br />to Metro Development Guide Chapter on Law to Justice <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich was directed to review this plan and to get back <br />to the council at their next regular council meeting on June 24, 1980. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann said in ~egards to preparing a grant application for <br />sewer and water, it is pretty much premature for that. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle suggested checking with Atty. Bernie Steffens <br />on what things the city should be prepared for in preparing a grant application <br />for sewer and wateri <br /> <br />Councilman Cox inquired about the costs of a hockey rink if there was going <br />to be some money available for it. <br /> <br />Using staff people for the Tri-City Joint PowersCommittee will be discussed <br />at the next regular'council meeting, June 24, 1980. <br /> <br />Regarding Mr. Tousley request for reconsideration of his request for a variance <br />to build an accessory building, Cit~ A~m~nistrator Schnelte said he didn't <br />contact Mr. Tousley because there was no need to because wherever he planned <br />to build it, it wouldn't fit. <br /> <br />It was the general consensus of the City Council not to act on this matter. <br /> <br />C/June 10, 1980 <br /> Page 14 <br /> <br /> <br />
