Allen: <br /> <br />The Council Board of Review at their meeting this year received many com- <br />plaints on the acceleration of property valuation as contained in Resolution <br />#80-1 which is unbelievable in a recession year. When reviewing this di- <br />lemma with our assessor, it appears our current state law which dictate <br />the process our assessors have to follow may be out of step and need re- <br />vamping to meet current economic trends. <br /> <br />Consequently, we would like to know what new legislation is being pre- <br />pared for the 1981 legislative session in this highly critical area. Here <br />in Minnesota due to high cost of energy and our lack of it in this state, <br />we have to make our tax structure very flexible so that it reacts quickly <br />to up and down turns in the economics. <br /> <br />In view of the above, we would-like for your office or yourself to schedule <br />a meeting with us to discuss the problems we have pointed out here and in <br />the resolution. <br /> <br />Sincerely, <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br />Thomas G.
