Included in the <br />Agenda this year will be a discussion on assessed value <br />calculation changes for property taxes, a discussion on <br />the new procedure for improvement assessment hearings, some <br />of the major property tax law changes, and what we, as local <br />officials, need to do to influence local government destiny <br />in the legislature~ <br /> <br />Proper understanding and use of levy limitation provisions <br />are vitally important for all cities and city officials. <br />The laws are complex and often misunderstood° The seminar <br />is designed to provide t-hat understanding and knowledge in <br />a comprehendible manner, so that officials will have as much <br />flexibility as possible for local budget preparation° <br /> <br />Although this seminar is similar to previous years, it will <br />serve as a good refresher for current budget activities, and <br />included will be a discussion of the aid formula as well as <br />other property tax law changes. Newl~ elected and appointed <br />officials, those unable to be at the previous session~ and <br /> <br />past participants are urged to attend. <br /> <br />The AMM is extending to non-member metropolitan officials and <br />to municipal officials outside of the seven county metropolitan <br />area the opportunity to participate in this seminar. Hopefully, <br />through this participation you will gain some personal knowledge <br />that will benefit your city. <br /> <br /> <br />
