A resident from the Whispering Pines area asked if she could just petition <br />her dirt road on 151st & Kangaroo Street and leave out the rest of the <br />roads in Whispering Pines Plat #2. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said she could repetition it. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka said that. it can be petitioned for this year, but it <br />won't get on the 1981 assessment rolls. <br /> <br />The resident noted on the petition that there were a lot of names for <br />151st and Kangaroo, about 95%, wanting the project. <br /> <br />City Assessor Wirz said only where a person fronts does he benefit. <br /> <br />The resident said she felt it was not fair because city staff told them to <br />put all the streets in Whispering Pines Plat #2 on the petition. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said this is the first time that this has happened. <br /> <br />Councilman-Cox suggested omdering another hearing for 151st and for Kangaroo <br />without'haying another petition. <br /> <br />The resident noted that two residents on Kangeroo don't want it and one <br />on 151st doesn't want it. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Mickelson to order a <br />public hearing for lots fronting on Kangaroo Street N.W. and on 151st Lane N.W. <br />and that portion of Iguana Street N.W. south of 151st Lane N.W. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Mickelson and Cox. Voting no-None~. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg to set <br />the date for the hearing for lots fronting on Kangaroo~Street N.W. and <br />on 151st Lane N.W. and that portion of I.guana Street N.W. south of 151st Lane N.W. <br />for July 8th at the Regular'Council Meeting. <br /> <br />Motioncarried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Mickelson and Cox. Voting no-None. <br /> <br />5) Paragraph VIII of Section 170.015I of the City Code in Regards to <br /> <br />Ordinance Change as Pertaining to House Size <br /> <br />Councilman Cox commented that Mr. Carson gave a good presentation on <br />smaller type housing sizes. <br /> <br />Discussion was held on the Planning & Zoning Commission's recommended sizes <br />and the E.D.C.'s recommended sizes. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said he thought 672 sq. ft. for two-story homes is not realistic. <br />Mr. Carson said not many two,story homes are being built in Ramsey. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec asked about using what Ramsey sizes are now and just eliminating <br />the garage requirement. <br /> <br />Special Council <br /> June 16, 1980 <br /> Page 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
