Mayor' Gamec said the council has followed the same policy on all these streets.

Smith, 15250 Iguana St. N.W.

Mr. Smith noted the majority present at the last public heaming on June 16, 1980
voted against the project for the whole plat. He asked how many times this
issue is going to be considered. He said he did not want this in the
whole area.

Mayor Gamec said these projects can come up many times for repetition and
it is up to the council to decide on them. The City Council doesn't
petition street improvements. They were petitioned by the people in the
neighborhood. If the project is turned down this time,~ the council probably
won't allow it again. He told Mr. Smith that he was not in the area that
is petitioned at this time, so he couldn't vote on it.

Mr. Charles McKenzie, 8221 - 151st Lane N.W.

Mr. McKenzie asked with the back street paved there if Jackel Street would
be assessed.

Mayor Gamec said it will be specified at the Assessment Hearing Whether
Jackel Street would be assessed or not.

Mr. Will Dague, 8100 - 152nd Ave. N.W.

Mr. Dague said if the pie keeps getting cut, eventually the majority
will be forced to blacktop. He asked when this project was repetitioned.
He said he thought the council was done with these for this year.

Mayor Gamec said there was a request made at the special council meeting
held after the hearings on June 16, 1980. He said the city is trying to
stretch this out for this year because of cutting costs.

Mr. Roger Buchanan, 15230 Kangamoo St. N.W.

Mr. Buchanan said he hoped the comments by the people not in the area
petitioned at this time will not be taken into consideration. He asked if
the city is going to sell bonds.

Mayor Gamec said the city was going to sell bonds but has not yet. He
said around the area bonds are coming in at 8.2% and he estimated the city
bonds would come in around 7% which would mean 8% to the residents.

Mr. Buchanan asked if he could pay this off in one lump sum if he chose to.

Mayor Gamec said it would be prorated, but he could pay it off.

Mr. Doug Berglund, 8220 ~ 151st Lane N.W.

Mr. Berglund said his driveway is on the corner of 151st Lane and Iguana St.
on Lot 10. He asked if he would be assessed.

PUBLIC HEARING
3uly 8, 1980
Page 2
