METROPOLITAN COUNCIL 300 Metro Square Building, Saint Paul, Minnesota 55101 MEMORANDUM TO: CAB Facilities Study Committee FROM: Jim Barton SUBJECT: Committee Status Report July 11, 1980 For those of you who may be wondering where we are relative to the various issues, studies and the'preparation of plans and specifications relative to the CAB facility, the following items, are intended tO bring everyone up to date. CITY OF ANOKA'S REQUEST FOR EXTENSION TO THE RUM RIVER The draft staff report reviewed at the last committee meeting on May 23 was modified to reflect concerns expressed by the City of Anoka, and presented to the Physical Development Committee on June 5. In addition to the report, Bob Johnson and Jerry Dulgar made a presentation to the committee. No decision was made. Rather, the committee delayed further consideration of extension requests until additional information was provided by the MWCC in the following areas: Review current MWCC cost estimates for the Rum River extension. Review alignment alternatives, particularly the MWCC recommended alignment, in order that existing easements, particularly on the east side of the river, can be used to the extent feasible. The MWCC has been reviewing the Rum River extension alternatives and will be meeting with the Anoka City staff by the end of July. The results of this additional study of the Rum River extension will be presented at the CAB meeting sometime in early August prior to reporting back to the Physical Development Committee. The date for this meeting has not been established. AMENDMENTS TO THE 208 WATER QUALITY PLAN The 201 Facilities Plan is scheduled to be submitted to the Metropolitan Council on Monday, July 14. A public hearing on this plan has been scheduled for August 14. More information is contained in the attached public hearing notice.
