METROPOLITAN COUNCIL <br />300 Metro Square Building, Saint Paul, Minnesota 55101 <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: CAB Facilities Study Committee <br /> <br />FROM: Jim Barton <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Committee Status Report <br /> <br />July 11, 1980 <br /> <br />For those of you who may be wondering where we are relative to the <br />various issues, studies and the'preparation of plans and <br />specifications relative to the CAB facility, the following items, are <br />intended tO bring everyone up to date. <br /> <br />CITY OF ANOKA'S REQUEST FOR EXTENSION TO THE RUM RIVER <br /> <br />The draft staff report reviewed at the last committee meeting <br />on May 23 was modified to reflect concerns expressed by the <br />City of Anoka, and presented to the Physical Development <br />Committee on June 5. In addition to the report, Bob Johnson <br />and Jerry Dulgar made a presentation to the committee. <br /> <br />No decision was made. Rather, the committee delayed further <br />consideration of extension requests until additional <br />information was provided by the MWCC in the following areas: <br /> <br />Review current MWCC cost estimates for the Rum River <br />extension. <br /> <br />Review alignment alternatives, particularly the MWCC <br />recommended alignment, in order that existing easements, <br />particularly on the east side of the river, can be used to <br />the extent feasible. <br /> <br />The MWCC has been reviewing the Rum River extension <br />alternatives and will be meeting with the Anoka City staff by <br />the end of July. The results of this additional study of the <br />Rum River extension will be presented at the CAB meeting <br />sometime in early August prior to reporting back to the <br />Physical Development Committee. The date for this meeting has <br />not been established. <br /> <br />AMENDMENTS TO THE 208 WATER QUALITY PLAN <br /> <br />The 201 Facilities Plan is scheduled to be submitted to the <br />Metropolitan Council on Monday, July 14. A public hearing on <br />this plan has been scheduled for August 14. More information <br />is contained in the attached public hearing notice. <br /> <br /> <br />
