During the month of August we anticipate preparing a draft of
the 208 amendment, with adoption by the Metropolitan Council in
October subsequent to MWCC adoption of the 210 Facilities Plan
scheduled in September. The draft amendment should be reviewed
by the committee in late August or early September.

REVISIONS TO PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE ANOKA SEGMENT

The MWCC and the City of Anoka are in the process of reaching
an agreement regarding the responsibility of payment for all
necessary drops and lateral sewers that are needed to connect
the local system to the interceptor, and the location of the
lift station and force main on city property. Once agreement
is reached, then work will commence on the revisions to the
plans and specifications for the Anoka segment. It is hoped
that the redesign will be completed by December, but
realistically it 'may spill over into early 1981. However, it
is my understanding that the Commission intends to begin
requesting bids as soon as the redesign is completed and
approved by the Commission.

LOWER SEGMENT OF THE CAB FACILITY

The Metropolitan Council and the MWCC have been in contact with
PCA in an effort to reach an agreement as to needed
improvements at the Metropolitan Treatment Plant, and the
construction of the Minneapolis East interceptor.

You may recall our earlier discussions on these matters and
the issues that need to be Lesolved before PCA will approve
the facilities design for the lower segment of the CAB. As
yet, no specific dates~have been established to my knowledge as
to when these issues can be resolved. It is the Council's and
Commission's intent to aggressively pursue these issues, not
only in order to select a design for the lower CAB system, but
to complete other improvements to the metropolitan system
which cannot proceed until the issues of the Metropolitan
Treatment Plant and combined sewer overflows into the system
are resolved.

SCHEDULE OF FUTURE CAB MEETINGS

No specific dates have yet been established for meetings in
August and September. The purpose of this memorandum is simply
to make you aware that during the next two months it appears
that at a minimum two meetings will be held, perhaps three, in
order to deal with the above items.

IM069A

- 2 -
