PROPOSED <br />REVISION - <br />ADDITIONAL <br />NEW <br />CRITERIA <br /> <br />1 to5 <br /> <br />1 to5 <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />Modest-Cost HomeownershiP Units - <br />Municipalities are ranked according to the <br />percentage of their total homesteaded housing <br />units in 1980 which are within a modest-cost <br />range based upon 1980 market value data <br />compiled by the county. <br /> <br />Modest-Cost Rental Units - <br />Municipalities are ranked according to the <br />percentage of their total rental housing <br />within a modest-cost range based upon the most <br />current available census data. (For example, <br />units renting for between $150 and $199, 1970 <br />census) . <br /> <br />New MOdest-Cost Housing Achievements - <br />Municipalities are awarded points upon <br />verification of ne.w. modest-cost housing units <br />rented or homesteaded within their <br />jurisdiction for the first time during the <br />previous calendar year. When the number of <br />units represents a percentage of the city's <br />metropolitan fair share new modest-cost* <br />private market housing goal, points will be <br />awarded as follows: <br /> <br />10+ percent - 6 points <br />6-9 percent- 4 points <br />3-5 percent- 2 points <br /> <br />* The Council will adjust the unit value and <br />rent limit for modest-cost housing annually <br />based upon HUD determined income categories <br />for the SMSA. <br /> <br />EXPLANATION <br />FOR THE <br />ADDITIONS <br /> <br />The proposed e~Ate~ia r~pond to modest-cost homing <br />concerns contained in the Metropolitan Land Planning Act <br />and in the Couneil'~ fair s~e plan for new modest-cost <br />p~iva~e market ho~in~. <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br /> <br />
