To:

From:

Date:

Whom this May Concern
Harris & Grace Haugtvedt
October 13, 1980

Re: New Road on 153rd to Hematite Street

After being called and informed by your engineer of the
possibility of putting a road thru our property, we have tried
to analyze and come up with some constructiue reasons as to the
real purpose of this road.

We are not in favor of it for the-following reasons:

We will loose trees

Our property will automatically be sitting on a corn~'r lot
& will be a costly expense in taxes each year thereafter.
Also, the expense of some day, water, sewer and more pavement.

We will loose a lot on the North side of the house facing
Hematite Street which we planned to sell in the future.

We will be loosing 33 ft. of 660' so we will be loosing more
property than the other 2 parties concerned.

Expense of paving new road and tax expense in keeping~up
a road which is not necessary.

6. Traffic

7. Privacy. taken away.

It appears to be more expense in putting the road thru than no
road at all.

You may say we will be able to sell o~ the 2½ acres behind, well we
really don't need that road to do this at this time-and anything
gained on that would be taken care of in the added expense of the
road, not only the original cost of the road but the expenses involved
each year thereafter, such as taxes, water, sewer, etc.

It it not our wish to be unreasonable when we see a great need such
as a road, but here is one situation that certainly doesn't warrant
a need for a road.

We would appreciate you reconsidering this project.
Thank,~ou. £ Xf.. ~/
Harris & Grac~/Haugtveaq5

HH:GH
