Since the proposed
project is located in the 1990 Urban Service Area, he recommended
thai construction of the street to ultimate standards be put off until
services are constructed. He recommended t~ alternatives to the
ultimate street sections: 1) Consider the proposed suburban street
section for Tungsten amd Front Streets and 2) Consider not doing any
improvement other than the dmainage inlets to the storm sewer on Rivlyn Avenue.
The cost estimates were done at the end of July and would be good for
this year only. He said adding a couple inlets to the storm sewer at
R~v]yn Avenu~ and Tungsten Street would cost an estimated $2,400 which
s?muld be assessed to property owners from the entire area that drains
into the storm sewer.

Ms. Ruth Gustafson, 6256 Rivlyn Avenue

Ms. Gustafson asked why the city is putting in streets now if sewer
& water will be coming in.

Mayor Gamec said that is a concern of the council also as the pipe
w~ll be available in 1982.

Mr ~ Kerry O'Rourke, 62~2 Rivlyn Avenue

Mr. O'Rourke stated the water problems came about because of Grosslein's
commercial property going in on Rivlyn Avenue. He said they dish'%
have any problems with their roads there until Grosslein brought in
80 pound Semi's.

Mayor Gamec said the city told Grosslein he had to take care of the
drainage there. The drainage problem the city is finding now is from water
coming down Rivlyn Avenue to the Corner of Rivlyn and Tungsten Street, which
then runs to Grosslein's and cross the street.

PUBLIC KErR ING
Septembe~r 23, 1980
Page 1
