CASE # <br /> <br />RECEIVE BIDS AND AWARD CONTRACT FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #04-21, <br />MUNICIPAL WELL #6 CONSTRUCTION <br /> By: Brian E. Oison, Assistant Public Works Director / Principal City Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Improvement Project #04-21 consists of the construction municipal Well #6 and installation of <br />the submersible pump associated with this well. Authorization to advertise for bids was ordered <br />on August 10, 2004, and bids were opened on Tuesday, September 7, 2004. <br /> <br />Two (2) bids were received and ranged from $318,322 to $339,925. A summary of the bidding' <br />is as follows: <br /> <br />Bidder <br />E.H. Renner & Sons <br />Mark J. Traut Wells, Inc. <br /> <br />Amount ofBid <br />$318,322.00 <br />$339,925.0O <br /> <br />Engineers Estimate: $400,000 <br /> <br />As part of the Master Development Agreement for-the Ramsey Town Center, this is one of the <br />three wells that were necessary to accommodate the additional demand for water supply. <br /> <br />Attached is a letter from our Consultant that recommends E.H. Renner & Sons for the contract as <br />they have s'ucccssfully performed work of a similar nature in the past. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />It is Staffs recommendation to award the contract to E.H. Renner & Sons in the amount of <br />$318,322. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to approve Resolution #04-09-XXX, awarding Project #04-21, Construction of <br />Municipal Well #6, to the lowest responsible bidder, E.H.
