MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT 1 ) Council Updates Mayor Gamec reported the following: Councihnembers that will be attending the golf tournament dilmer on August 17th need to inform staff. The governor did not get support from his party at the Northstar meeting today. It is h0Pe2~l that the Met Council will approve the funding tomorrow. Councihnember Zimmennan am~ounced the Minnesota State Supreme Court came out in favor of Met Council and against the city of Lake Elmo. He stated he still believes in local government and thinks the decision is incorrect. Councihnember Kural~ inquired about the status of Sunfish Lake Park. Public Works Director Kapler replied he will research this and include it in the lYeekly Update. Mayor Gamec requested an update on Elmcrest Park and the construction of the roads. Assistant Public Works Director Olson reported all the grading for the roadway is complete. There was a lot of clay and about the only cost savings they will have on the roadway is from the few spots where the geotextile fabric was not needed under the road. The construction is still on schedule and they will start to see major improvements in the next few weeks. At this time the project is about 15 to 20 percent complete. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Councihnember Kurak, second by Councilmember Cook, to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Kurak, Cook, Elvig, Strommen, and Zimmcmmn. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberPearson.
