A roll call vote was perfmTned by the Recording Secretary: <br /> <br />Mayor Garnet: aye <br />Councilmember Cook: aye <br />Councitmember Elvig: aye <br />Councilmemb~r Kurak: aye <br />Councilmember Pearson: absent <br />Councilmember Strommen: aye <br />Councihnember Zimmerman: aye <br /> <br />N4otion carried. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec reported Councilmember Pearson is not present tonight because he is'home <br />recovering ti'om open-heart surgery. <br /> <br />Case #8: <br /> <br />Request for Conditional Use Permit to Exceed the Allotted Square Footage <br />for Accessory Buildings; Case of Martin and Ruth Mechtel <br /> <br />Community Developlnent Director Frolik reported the City has received an application from <br />Martin and Ruth Mechtel for a Conditional Use Permit to exceed the maximum allowable square <br />footage for accessory buildings on properties between 14,880 square feet and 43,559 square feet <br />as established in City Code. The property is located at 15235 Zuni Street NW. There were no <br />comments at the public hearing. The Planning Commission recommended that the Council <br />approve thc request for a Conditional Use Permit. <br /> <br />Martin Mechtel, applicant, explained the building is for storage to keep their yard neat and <br />orderly. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, second by Councilmember Zimmerman, to adopt Resolution <br />#04-08-226 adopting Findings of Fact #0692 relating to Martin and Ruth Mechtel's request for a <br />Comlitional Use Permit to exceed the allotted square footage for accessory buildings. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cook, Zimmerman, Elvig, Kurak, <br />and Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Pearson. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, second by Councilmember Kurak, to adopt Resolution #04-08- <br />227 to approve Martin and Ruth Mechtel's request to exceed the allotted square footage for <br />accessory buildiugs based on the findings of fact and declaring terms of same. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cook, Kurak, Elvig, Strommen, <br />and Zimlnerman. Voting No: None.
