-3-

No. ~ a. "Does the City of Anoka plan to enforce all of its ordinances
on Ramsey Township? Many people here have bought land for raising
horses, dogs, and other livestock. Some have shooting ranges. What does
Anoka plan to do about snowmobiles, shooting firearms, etc?"

Answer: Anoka does not have an ordinance prohibiting horses in Anoka.,
Since 1965 the law allows urbam and rural in law #272.~67., They would
have to draft new ordinances for the new municipality. Mr. Scarborough
said: We believe the residents o£ Rs~nsey Township should decide their
own fate. The purpose o£ this meeting is to get some information to the
residents o£ Ramsey Township and not be told by three peaple what the
rest of the Township should do., I don't believe we should have to be
.pushed around. Let the people know all the £a¢.ts and then it is up to
them to vote according to their own wishes.

i4o. 6 "How will the annexed area be represented on the city council?
Will we have a voice on it?"

Refer' 'to page 28 of Fact-Finding booklet~ Anoka has a five man council
and all are elected at large. They could have a six or seven man council
and designate where they have to come from. 795 people voted at the last
Ramsey election - 12,5OO in Anoka. Pages 28 and 29 explain the answer to
this question. These meetings are for the purpose of finding out whether
the residents of Ramsey Township are agreeable or amenable to any form of
annexation.

We would lose the Anoka County libmary and bookmovie~ How would the new
Anoka City library be paid for?

Mr. Gesko: No one in the City of Anoka has an~ designs on acquiring
property in Ramsey Township or anywhere else. The question is kew we
can best provide for the orderly growth of Ramsey Township and the City
of Anoka.

At 'this point Mr. Sanders requested anothem meeting to cover the rest of
the questions in this questionnaire. It is now 9:40.~

Mr. Ges~o: ~Ve will be glad to arrange any number of meetings that are
required. He asked what night in. the week would be most acceptable and
on a s~ow of hands it was found that Thursday nights would be.~

The meeting adjourned at 9:4~5. Meetings will be rescheduled. Notices
will be in the paper. Next meeting is February 20 for residents of Anoka
but any resident who wished to attend from Ramsey Township was welcome.

Respectfully submit ted~
