Mayor Gamec suggested businesses in the area be notified of the worksession. <br /> <br />Councihnember Elvig suggested the residents on the west side of TH 47 also be notified of the <br />workscssion. <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson indicated a second modification being proposed by <br />MnDOT is to correct a conflict between right turns from CSAH 5 onto southbound TH 47 with <br />left turns fi'om Xkimo Street onto southbound TH 47. Two possible alternatives have been <br />proposed for alleviating this conflict. Staff would be supportive of either of these measures since <br />complaints have been received regarding this situation. He indicated although not specifically <br />mentioned in this letter, this project may also be an opportunity to create the following: <br /> <br />· The northbound bypass lane at 157th Lane that was authorized by the Council. This <br /> improvement would involve only a minimal amount of additional pavement, however, <br /> traffic control will probably be a significant cost element. <br />· The northbound bypass lane at 180th Lane that was not authorized by the City Council but <br /> was discussed at the same time as 157th Lane NW. <br />· The elimination of the hump that is approximately 600 feet south of the intersection of <br /> 167th Avenue NW and TH 47. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamcc suggested the passing lane at the golf course also be addressed. <br /> <br />for the foot bridge at the golf course. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL <br /> <br />Mayor Gamcc informed the Council and staffthat the county has inquired of the City's interest in <br />taking back Couuty Road 63. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman indicated this subject will need to go through the proper procedure, <br />and will be discussed by staff. <br /> <br />ADJOURNNIENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councihnember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />The City Council Work Session of the City Council adjourned at 8:18 p.m. <br /> <br />Respect fully submitted, <br /> <br />City Council Work Session/August 31, 2004 <br /> Page 8 of 9 <br /> <br /> <br />
