Councilmember Zimmerman requested that staff keep the Park Commission informed as to what
is going on.

2) Ramsey Park and Ride

Principal City Engineer Olson explained that last year the City Council talked about the facility
being placed in the southeastern comer of the Town Center property on a temporary basis, which
the City received a grant for. Since that time the timeline for the Town Center is going faster
than originally anticipated so they no longer see the need to place the facility in the southeastern
comer. The problem is that the City is at risk of losing the grant if the facility is not constructed
in the location specified in the grant unless the City can receive a one-year extension. A one-year
extension request has been made and staff is currently waiting for a response. The additional
year would give the City time to place the facility in a more feasible location. He noted that staff
would be working very hard on the issue over the next few weeks.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to adjourn the regular
meeting of the Public Works Committee.

The regular ~neeting of the Public Works Committee adjourned at 7:00 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Nanci Libor
Recording Secretary
TimeSaver Off Site Secretarial, Inc.

Director of Public Works/Fire Chief

Public Works Committee/June 17, 2003
