4) Sub-Zoning in the Industrial District <br /> <br />Councihnember Elvig stated that the City is currently working on redeveloping some areas in the <br />i ndustri al p ark a nd i t appears t hat some o f t he requests h ave to do with outside storage. He <br />suggested doing an overlay of the existing industrial park and identify areas where the City <br />would allow outside storage and areas where they do not. <br /> <br />Councihncmber Zimmerman felt that that was an issue that should be addressed by the Planning <br />Commission. <br /> <br />Consensus was to forward the issue to the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />5) Speed Limit Controls at Ramsey Elementary <br /> <br />Councihnember Elvig stated that the Police Chief had received a letter regarding a traffic light in <br />front of the school to help reduce the speed with the children walking to school. Mr. Elvig <br />suggested that a flashing light be installed in front of the school by the County. The school has <br />changed their policy for busing children and they have a situation where children are walking and <br />they will have a serious accident eventually. <br /> <br />Police Chief Way replied that the County is currently ignoring the City on the issue. <br /> <br />Councihnember Cook inquired if there was anything the City could do to help press the issue. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman replied that members of the Committee could attend a County <br />Public Works committee. <br /> <br />Councihnelnber Elvig requested that staff notify them of the time of the next meeting and have <br />the item placed on the County agenda. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE/STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />1) Update on the 145th Avenue and 146th Lane Sidewalk <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski explained that staff has not been able to get the project moving forward <br />as of yet and if they were start now and bring plans back on September 23rd they would not be <br />able to begin construction until November. It was staff's recommendation that the project be <br />delayed until spring starting the bidding process in February. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Public Works Committee was to delay the project until the spring. <br /> <br />Public Works Committee/August 26, 2003 <br /> Page 6 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
