determined that the stop sign was originally placed by the contractor. The placement of a single stop sign at this intersection is problematic. Staff presented traffic counts for the intersection. It was staff's recommendation that a stop sign be placed going west bound. Bill Wirth, 7884 182nd Avenue NW, Ramsey, stated that he watches people going south on Armstrong and see the stop sign and think they have a through street and go straight through. As traffic picks-up he is concerned it is going to be a real problem. He requested that an additional stop sign be placed at the intersection. Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to recommend to the City Council that a stop sign be placed going westbound at the intersection of Riverdale Boulevard and Armstrong Boulevard. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Zimmerman, Councilmembers Elvig, and Cook. Voting No: None. COMMITTEE/STAFF INPUT 1) Water Fill Station Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler explained that the Public Works Department w as nearing the completion of the water fill station so they will no longer need to require water permits for large amount of water. Four $1.00 people can receive 500 gallons of water. 2) Happy Days Event Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler recognized Public Work staff members John Nelson and Aaron Madsen for t he work t hey d id during t he Happy Days e vent a s w ell a s the Police Reserves. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to adjourn the regular meeting of the Public Works Committee.
