Applicant is requesting a land use designation change from Places to Shop to Places to Work. <br />The comprehensive plan amendment, coupled with their rezoning request, would allow the <br />applicant to develop the property with Industrial uses. <br /> <br />Staff recommends approval of the request. The subject area appears to be a good fit for <br />Industrial type of businesses. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt questioned if J.R. Absent: None. <br /> <br />The public hearing closed at 8:01 p.m. <br /> <br />Commission Business <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt called the regular meeting of the Planning Commission back to order at 8:01 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioner Watson asked if neighbors in Elk River would be notified of this issue. <br />Community Development Assistant Wald replied they would. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Kociscak to recommend that the <br />City Council adopt the resolution authorizing staff to. submit the Comprehensive Plan <br />Amendment to Metropolitan Council. <br /> <br />Motion Carried.
