Public Hearin~ <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt called the public hearing to order at 8:02 p.m. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Community Development Assistant Wald explained that J.R. Land and Cattle Company is <br />requesting that the City rezone approximately 17.29 acres from B-1 Business to Industrial. The <br />property to the north is zoned PUD Planned Unit Development (Northfork residential <br />development), and the property to the south is zoned B-1 Business and the subject property is on <br />the Elk River and Ramsey border. She explained that the 2001 Comprehensive Plan identifies <br />this area for commercial/retail uses and therefore a Comprehensive Plan Amendment is also <br />required. Staff recommends approval of the rezoning request. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Kociscak, seconded by Commissioner Reeve, to close the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Kociscak, Reeve, Brauer, <br />Johnson, Sweet, and Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />The public hearing closed at 8:03 p.m. <br /> <br />Commission Business <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt called the regular meeting of the Planning Commission back to order at 8:03 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Kociscak, seconded by Commissioner Watson to recommend that the <br />City Council adopt the Findings of Fact, favorable to the applicant, relating to a request to rezone <br />the subject property from B-1 Business to I- Industrial. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Kociscak, Watson, Brauer, <br />Johnson, Reeve, and Sweet. Voting No: None.
