Absent: None. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING/COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #6: <br /> <br />Request to Rezone Property from R-1 Urban Residential to R-3 Urban <br />Residential; Case of Anoka County Community Action Program (ACCAP) <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt closed the regular portion of the Planning Commission meeting at 8:29 p.m. in <br />order to call the public hearing to order. <br /> <br />Public Hearin~ <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt called the public hearing to order at 8:29 p.m. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik noted that the Anoka County Community Action <br />Program has acquired property from the City of Ramsey to do a multiple family rental housing <br />project. The property is located on the west side of T.H. #47 at the intersection with Sunwood <br />Drive N.W. The project site is approximately 11.3 acres in size. Nine acres of the 11 acre site is <br />currently zoned R-3 Urban Residential for multiple family housing; the remaining 2 acres <br />adjacent to T.H. #47 is zoned R-1 Urban Residential. The 2001 Comprehensive Plan identifies <br />this property for development with medium density housing. By State law, the City is obligated <br />to ensure that the zoning complies with the Comprehensive Plan. City Staff recommends <br />approval of the request for rezoning. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Sweet, to close the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Sweet, Brauer, <br />Kociscak, Reeve, and Watson. Voting No: None.
