CASE #3:

Once you have conducted the interviews, it will then be necessary for
you to recommend to the City Council which applicant you have chosen
for the replacement of Harry Ellis.

It will also be necessary for the Planning and Zoning Commission to
recommend to the City Council reappointment for Commissioners Arthur
Dunn and Ronald West. Their terms expired on December 31, 1981.

Your action will be to recommend to the City Council the reappointment
of Commissioners Arthur Dunn and Ronald West to the Planning and Zoning
Commission for a term of four years to be expiring on December 31, 1985.

AMENDMENT TO CITY CODE SECTIONS 170.013D(5), 170.013D(6), 170.013D(7),

'1
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

CASE ~4:

AND 170.0111, PARAGRAPHS 32 AND 33.'

The City Council, in conjunction with various requests for rezoning of
residential property-to business property outside the City's urban area,
has determined that it shall be necessary to amend the City Ordinance
to only allow those businesses that use a minimal amount of water and
will not create a premature need for sewer in these areas.

Therefore, they have directed the City Staff and City Attorney to draft
language for the amendments, which proposed language is contained as
enclosure (D2-g). This amendment will include business, industrial and
recreational open space zoning proposed to be rezoned as well as properties
already zoned.

Your action will be to recommend to the City Council approval/disapproval/
amendment of the proposed language.

AMENDMENT OF THE CITY ZONING DISTRICTS:

In conjunction with Case #3, this item would then be the changing of the
zoning on the properties that are currently I-1 or B-1 outside the urban
area to RI-la and RB-la. The purpose of this rezoning is to attain the
controls necessary to restrict developments which would use large amounts
of water.

Enclosure (D2-h) contains the hearing notice and list of parcels proposed
to be rezoned. Also enclosed is the lists of property owners notified of
this hearing.

There will probably be a number of questions in regards to this, as you will
be reducing the uses for these properties. The largest number of calls we
have received regarding this proposal are not in objection, however, but why.

Your action will be to recommend to the City Council approval/disapproval/
amendment of the' proposed areas to be rezoned.

PLEASE NOTE: IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT EACH COMMISSIONMEMBER BRING TO THE
MEETING ALL THE INFORMATION SENT TO THEM A FEW WEEKS AGO REGARDING THIS
PUBLIC HEARING.
