Gamec <br />Mayor of Ramsey <br />15153 Nowthen Boulevard Northwest <br />Ramsey, Minnesota 55303 <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Dear Mayor Gamec: <br /> <br />Thank you for your letter and the accompanying resolution adopted by the <br />Ramsey City Council recommending the repeal of Minnesota's Fiscal <br />Disparities Act. <br /> <br />Because of the state's Fiscal problems and the demands of the legislative <br />session, I have not been able to respond to your recommendation until now. <br /> <br />Because of the state's pressing financial problems brought about by the <br />downturn in the nation's economy, regrettably I have not had the opportunity <br />to take an in-depth look at the Fiscal Disparities Act. As a result, I am <br />hesitant at this time to express an opinion as to whether the law should <br />be repealed. <br /> <br />Nevertheless, I greatly appreciated receiving your observations and re- <br />commendation about the Fiscal Disparities Act, and will benefit from your <br />wisdom in my future review of it. <br /> <br />In closing, I want to express my gratitude for your advise and support during <br />the legislative session. <br /> <br />GOVERNOR <br /> <br />AN 'EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER <br /> <br /> <br />
