I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />i <br />! <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />i <br />I <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />F ROM: <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />City Administrator <br /> <br />May 1982 Staff Report <br /> <br />1) Meetings and Seminars - I have attended the following meetings/seminars <br />during the month of May 1982 which I feel Council should be cognizant of as <br />they are quite important to the City: <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />Ra~sey Economic Development Commission Meeting, 7:30 a.m., May 12, <br />1982, Ramsey Municipal Center - Several'issues were on the agenda <br />which were quite important: 1) Local Development Corporation; <br />and 2) City of Ramsey Community Profile. The creating of a Local <br />Development Corporation will be on this Council agenda for your <br />action. The Ramsey profile will be going back to the EDC for fur- <br />ther action. <br /> <br />The EDC Legislative Subcommittee is studying to work on legislation <br />that has an effect on commerce and industrial development. It appears <br />they will be quite well-organized for the 1983 Legislative Session. <br /> <br />b) State Aid Lawsuit - The following is submitted on this item: <br /> <br />Prepared rough draft response to State's interrogatory <br />questions - Reviewed rough draft with City Attorney Good- <br />rich and submitted them to Mr. Richard Rosow who is han- <br />dling this case for the City. <br /> <br />Preparing statistical chart data which will be quite in- <br />depth as we are going to show how inequities develop in <br />State aid law in picture form. Meeting at State Auditor's <br />office on May 18, 1982 to work on it with Mr. Mel Kaasa. <br /> <br />NOTE: Letters and Communications contains a copy of the <br />State's interrogatory questions and my rough draft response. <br />You will note some questions I haven't answered whioh <br />will be answered by Mr. Rosow. You will also note that <br />the referenced material has been omitted from the agenda <br />because Lt would be too Voluminous. If you want to review <br />this, please let me know as I do have it on file. I will <br />furnish you a smooth copy of it when I get it. <br /> <br />c) <br /> <br />Changing of Engineering firms regarding documents - I also met with <br />Mr. Jeff Roos of Consulting Engineers Diversified, Inc. and Mr. Pete <br />Raatikka and this. is now being worked out. <br /> <br /> <br />
