1.22 Shop Drawings: All drawings, diagrams, illustrations, brochures, schedules and other data <br />which are prepared by the Contractor, a subcontractor, manufacturer, supplier or distributor and which <br />illustrate the equipment, material or some portion of the work. <br /> <br />1.23 Special Provisions: The term means contract requirements peculiar to the project which are not <br />otherwise thoroughly or satisfactorily detailed and set forth in the standard detail specifications or plans. <br /> <br />1.24 Specifications: The term means the directions, provisions, and requirements contained herein, <br />together with all written agreements made or to be made pertaining to the method and manner of <br />performing the work, or to the quantities and qualities of materials to be furnished under the contract. <br /> <br />1.25 Subcontractor: The term means those having a direct contract with the Contractor and it includes <br />one who furnished materials worked to a special design according to the plans and specifications of <br />this work, but does not include one who merely furnishes material so worked. <br /> <br />1.26 Substantial Completion: That date as certified in writing by the Engineer when the construction <br />of the project or a specified part thereof is sufficiently complete in accordance with the contract <br />documents for use by the Owner. <br /> <br />1.27 Supplemental General Conditions: Modification to the general conditions that supplement, add <br />to, delete from or change the articles therein. <br /> <br />1.28 Surety: The Guarantor for the Contractor who, with the Contractor, signs an instrument or <br />instruments known as the bond or bonds guaranteeing that the Contractor will fully comply with the <br />plans, specifications and agreements. <br /> <br />1.29 Work: The entire completed construction or the various separately identifiable parts thereof <br />required to be furnished under the Contract Documents. Work is the result of performing services, <br />furnishing labor and furnishing and incorporating materials and equipment into the construction, all as <br />required by the Contract Documents. <br /> <br />Abbreviations <br /> <br />A.A.S.H.O <br />.: The American Association of State Highway Officials. All references to A.S.S.H.O. <br />specifications or methods of tests shall be understood to refer to their latest published edition of the <br />"Standard Specifications for Highway Materials and Methods of Sampling and Testing". <br /> <br />A.N.S.I <br />.: American National Standards Institute, Inc. All references to A.N.S.I. specifications shall be <br />understood to refer to their latest published edition. <br /> <br />A.S.A <br />.: The American Standards Association. All references to A.S.A. specifications shall be <br />understood to refer to their latest published edition. <br /> <br />A.S.T.M <br />.: The American Society for Testing Materials.
