Case #$: Request to Vacate a Portion of a Drainage and Utility Easement on Lot 2, <br /> Block 1, Hauser Addition (Wiser Choice Liquor); Case of M&W Holding <br /> LLC <br />Assistant Community Development Director Trudgeon advised a public hearing was held at the <br />August 24, 2004 City Council meeting regarding the vaCation of a portion of a drainage and <br />utility easement on Lot 2, Block 1, Hauser Addition for Wiser Choice Liquor. No comments <br />were received. At that meeting, the City Council introduced the ordinance to Vacate the drainage <br />and utility easement for Lot 2, Block 1, Hauser Addition. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to adopt Ordinance #04- <br />39 to vacate the drainage and utility easement along the southern lot line of Lot 2, Block 1, <br />Hauser Addition. ' <br /> <br />A roll call vote was perfon~ned by the Recording Secretary: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec: <br />Councilmember Cook: aye <br />Councihnember Elvig: aye <br />Councilmember Kurak: aye <br />Councilmember Pearson: aye <br />Councihnember Strommen: aye <br />Councihnember Zimmerman: aye <br /> <br />aye <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Case #6: <br /> <br />Request for a Conditional Use'Permit to Exceed the Allotted Square Footage <br />for Accessory Buildings; Case of Michael Mettler <br /> <br />Assistant Community Development Director Trudgeon explained the Ci~ has received an <br />application fi-om Michael Mettler for a Conditional Use Peri,alt to exceed the maximum <br />allowable square footage for accessory buildings on properties between 1 and 1.99 acres as <br />established in City Code on the property located at 15315 Sunfish Lake Boulevard NW. The <br />property is approximately 1.73 acres in size and is located inside the Metropolitan Urban Service <br />Area (MUSA). According to City Code, the property is eligible for 1,664 square, feet of <br />accessory building space. There is currently a one-stall, attached garage, which is 308 square <br />feet (14' x 22'), and a detached garage, which is 660 square feet (22' x 30'), on' the subject <br />property. The applicant is proposing to construct an addition on the detached garage that would <br />be 960 square feet (24' x 40'). Including the proposed addition, there would be 1,928 square feet <br />of accessot3, building space on the property, which results in an overage of 264 square feet. <br /> <br />Assistant Community Developmdnt Director Trudgeon advised the applicant has stated that he <br />plans to conve~! the one-stall attached garage into living space, although that work would not <br />occm- l'br several years. The applicant would like to exceed the size restriction in order to <br />construct an addition on the detached garage that would provide for more inside storage of <br />private use vehicles and equipment.
