The increase in rates on August l0n` were due to a sewer and water
study done by a consulting firm of the City. A developer came ibrward with concerns due to the
large increase and the Council then amended the rates to a graduated increase, begirming at 25%
of the total increase amount. After reviewing the water study it was determined it would be best
to amend the rates back tO the 2004 January 1~' adopted rates. Any deten-nined increases will be
brought forward in October for adoption on January 1, 2005. The recommendation tonight is to
re-amend the rates for sewer and water trunk charges back to the January 2004 adopted rates of
water at $1,327/unit and sewer at $596/unit.

Motion by Councihnember Cook, seconded by Councilmernber Elvig, to ratify the
recornrnendation of the Finance Committee and adopt Resolution #04-09-300 Amending the
2004 Schedule of Rtes, Fees and Charges to include the following:
Water Trunk Charge $1,327/unit
Sewer Trunk Charge $596/unit

Motion calTied.
