The consensus of the Council was to direct staff to proceed with the Assistant Public Works <br />Director's suggestion. <br /> <br />Cul-de-sac <br />Mr. Sc~hmidt expressed concern with the impact of the cul-de-sac as proposed. <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director OIson advised staff recommends the full cul~de-sac off of 148th <br />Avenue NW He stated staff must recommend a full cul-de-sac and full right-of-way for any <br />subdivision. There are many plats that come into the City, and the, same requirements must be <br />recommended Ibr all of them. <br /> <br />The Council requested direcnon from staff as to what provisions could, be allowed in the cul-de- <br />sac requirements if ~his were to be the Council's dkection. <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson replied staff~vould advised that the radius be increased to <br />2f or 30 feet, and that the 2'4 foot segment be a little further in.' <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook suggested the cul-de-sac be widened so rlqa there. J,s not a radius and that a <br />setback variance be granted to enable a plow: truckto get in and' s~ore I0~feet of snow, without <br />the requn'ement of afl. tll cul-de-sac. <br /> <br />The consensus of the Council was to direct' staff to-work With the applicant on the cul-de-sac <br />requirements tn relation to the radius and arvariance.. ...' <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Strommen, quesi:ianed if ~he findings must be clear <br />regarding the turn around so there ts not a precedent :set. Public Works Director Kapler <br />responded in the afJSrmadve: Councilmember Cook commented in relation to this, the original <br />intent was co bring the road~ ffu'ougk to Ramsey Boulevard, which is no longer feasible, and <br />concessions are needed to make ~he property usable <br /> <br />Decorati-ve/privacv fence ~ <br />Mr. Schm~dt indicated he_its willing to put up the decorative/privacy fence.
