7;45 P..M. March 20, 1980 The Rs~sey City Council held an informal meeting at the above time at the City of Ramsey's Municipal Center. The following were prasent at this meeting: Councilman /krnold Cox Councilman David Mickelson Councilman Allen Sorteberg Also present at this meeting were the following: Mrs. Arnold Cox Mr. Rienarz~ Farm Home Administration Mr. Grasavage, HUD Lloyd G. Schnelle, City Administrator The purpose of this informal meeting was to meet the Department Farm Home Administration and the Department of Housing Urban Development to discuss the grant programs their respective department administer and how their programs wo~d benefit the City of Ramsey. 7@. William Grasavage of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Develop~ ment exp]_ained to the City Council member at this meeting the various grant progr~ns this federal agency funds. He explained that the Community Deyelop~ ment Block Grant Program to the City Council and how a City would qualify for a grant. Mr. Grasavage also explained the Economic Development grant for industrial development. After reviewing the'total HUD grant program with Mr. Grasavage, it became apparent that the City of Ramsey would have a difficult time qualifying for any HUD grant program due to the many pecu]arities that goes into the ranking of a HUD grant, The small City HUD CoTmnuni'ty Block Grant program was not designed for out suburban com~ mmsities like Ramsey Mr. Rienarz of the Farm Home Administration discussed with Council members the extent of their programs they had to offer to communities like the City of Ramsey.
