MEMO <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />November 10, 2004 <br /> <br />Economic Development Authority (EDA) <br /> <br />Megan Wald and Sean Sullivan <br /> <br />Staff Update <br /> <br />Town Center: Coborn's is expected to receive final approval at the November 9th City Council <br />meeting. <br /> <br />New Business Prospects: <br /> <br />City staff has met with the accounting firm from Andover as directed by the EDA on October 13, <br />2004. The meeting took place on October 15, 2004 and it was'very promising. Details as to time <br />frames and builders are being discussed and the City is anxiously awaiting the first drafts of the <br />building drawings. The Development will occur on the Martin property and construction will <br />hopefully start some time in May of 2005. <br /> <br />TLM Cabinets is under construction and NTI will be complete within the month of November. <br />This completes development on the Chics and Morrell sites and the adjacent area continues to <br />see more redevelopment. <br /> <br />The City is still waiting fOr a response from the RFp submitted in July for an unnamed 100,000 <br />S.F. manufacturer. Updates will be provided when new information is available. Staff is <br />recommending property located in Sunfish Lake Business Park to the prospective business. <br /> <br />New Developments (residential and commercial): <br /> <br />The Planning Commission will be reviewing the site plan for W. Properties at their November 4, <br />2004 meeting. W. Properties is proposing to construct a 42,240 square foot office/warehouse <br />facility on Lot 3, Block 1, Gateway North Industrial Park No. 5 (located at the coruer of 143rd <br />and Ebony Street). <br /> <br />The Planning Commission will be reviewing a sketch plan for the development of Town Center <br />Gardens 3rd Addition. The sketch plan is proposing to develop 184 townhouse units and 21 single <br />family lots for a total of 205 new residential units. <br /> <br />Business Grand Openings:. <br />celebrate its Grand Opening. <br />elected county officials. <br /> <br /> Village bank had a ribbon cutting on November 1, 2004 to <br />Staff and Councilmembers were in attendance as well as other <br /> <br />It is expected that NTI will have a grand opening during the month of November or December. <br />More inl!ormation will be given as it is received. <br /> <br />Marketing Initiatives: Staff would like to re-evaluate the direct marketing project after <br />discussing the NAIOP topic below. <br /> <br /> <br />
