He stated he did <br />not like it and did not want rental. <br /> <br />Mrs. McManigle stated she would like to offer her phone number if this sale goes through in case <br />there are problems. <br /> <br />Mr. James LaDonnell asked if the building will remain as is. <br /> <br />Mrs. McManigle stated it would remain as is. <br /> <br />Ms. Audrey Mars stated the new owners will probably build an apartment on the land next door. <br /> <br />Ms. Myrna Borsey, REMax, stated this property is 3.8 acres. <br /> <br />Mrs. Jacqueline Abendroth asked if this is the only alternative to selling the property. She <br />wondered why they can't sell this as is. <br /> <br />Mrs. Abendroth stated she would rather have the owner living on the property also. <br /> <br />Mr. Tim Atkinson, 15811 Sodium, stated they just moved out of Minneapolis because of their <br />children. He would like the City to expand on the rental policy and he wondered if there are <br />background checks and long term renting required so there is not so many transients. <br /> <br />Ms. Geisler explained the new rental policy in the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Mr. Atkinson asked if the City could require background checks on renters. <br /> <br />Ms. Geisler did not think the City could get involved in that because of liability issues. <br /> <br />Ms. Abendroth asked how often the rental license would be checked. <br /> <br />Ms. Geisler stated it is checked every two years. <br /> <br />Mrs. McManigle stated there are other properties around there. She stated there was discussion <br />about turning this home back into a single family home and this was never a single family home, <br />it has always been two homes with two furnaces. <br /> <br />Mr. Abendroth stated the house was originally built as a single home. <br /> <br />Ms. Borsey stated the original home was built in the sixties and then the second home was built <br />later. <br /> <br />Ms. Gloria Francine, Edina Realty gave a character reference on the future owners. <br /> <br />Ms. McManigle stated they talked to surrounding residents regarding their other rental unit and <br />they have not had any phone calls with complaints. <br /> <br />Planning Commission/October 7, 2004 <br />Page 8 of 15 <br />
