6. The Contractor shall consult with the selected pipe bursting equipment manufacturer <br />regarding recommendations for the installation of pipe materials specified. <br />2641.4 SUBMITTALS <br />The Contractor shall submit the following: <br />1. Tests for compliance with this specification shall be made as specified herein and in <br />accordance with the applicable ASTM Specification. A certificate from the manufacturer <br />indicating the materials furnished meet the requirements of these specifications. <br />2. Shop drawings, catalog data, and manufacturer's technical data showing complete <br />information on material composition, physical properties, and dimensions of new pipe <br />and fittings. Include manufacturer's recommendations for handling, storage, and repair <br />of pipe and fittings damaged. <br />3. Certification of Contractor and assigned personnel training for installing pipe. <br />4. Detailed submittal of the procedures and method proposed by the Contractor to burst the <br />existing pipe and insert the new pipe. <br />5. Television inspection reports and video made of the existing pipe and after new pipe <br />installation. <br />2641.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING <br />The Contactor shall transport, handle, and store pipe and fittings as recommended by the <br />manufacturer. If new pipe and fittings become damaged before or during installation, it shall be <br />repaired as recommended by the manufacturer or replaced as required by the Engineer at the <br />Contractor's expense, before proceeding further. Deliver, store and handle other materials as <br />required to prevent damage. <br />2641.6 LICENSE AGREEMENTS <br />The Contractor shall submit evidence acceptable to the Owner, such as a certified copy of a <br />license or agreement that it has the authority to use the proposed method from the patent holder <br />and licensed manufacturer. The Contractor agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the <br />Owner and the Engineer against all claims, suits, and actions or other damages as a result of <br />negligence of any person or property arising out of patent infringement by the Contractor or the <br />Contractor's employee's, agents, the suppliers, or any tier of subcontractors involved in the <br />work. <br />2641.7 CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS <br />Before excavation is started, it will be the responsibility of the Contractor to check with the <br />various utility companies and determine the location and depth of the existing utilities in the <br />vicinity of the work area. <br />Damage to utilities and the resulting repair, temporary service cost, etc., shall be borne by the <br />Contractor. Access pits shall be backfilled in accordance with Section 2600, Trench Excavation <br />and Backfill. <br />Page 70 <br />
