Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #17-06-149 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING <br />ADVERTISEMENTS FOR BIDS FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #17-04, SUNWOOD <br />DRIVE STRIPING IMPROVEMENTS <br />WHEREAS, Sunwood Drive between Armstrong Boulevard/CSAH 83 and Ramsey <br />Boulevard/CSAH56 within the City' s COR development area was constructed in 2006; and <br />WHEREAS, the existing pavement striping on this segment of Sunwood Drive is in poor <br />condition and must be replaced to safely direct pedestrian and vehicle traffic; and <br />WHEREAS, the existing pavement striping includes significant center two-way turn lane <br />striping since much of the corridor was undeveloped when Sunwood Drive was constructed and <br />striped; and <br />WHEREAS, all center two-way turn lane striping is proposed to be replaced with <br />dedicated left turn lane striping to better direct vehicles turning onto existing streets and into <br />private accesses; and <br />WHEREAS, dedicated right turn lane striping is proposed to be added at several <br />intersections to reduce delay and congestion due to right turning traffic, and to increase safety for <br />pedestrians; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff prepared plans and specifications for pavement striping <br />improvements along Sunwood Drive in 2017. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1. The Ramsey City Council hereby approves final plans and specifications as prepared by <br />the City of Ramsey Engineering Depailinent for the making of such improvements, and <br />authorizes the advertisement of bids for the same improvements. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />Resolution #17-06-149 <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />
