No <br />additional compensation will be due the Contractor for working after hours to complete this work. <br />2.2 WATERMAIN FITTING MATERIALS <br />A. The following pressure pipe fitting materials will be allowed for use on this project: <br />1. Mechanical Class 350 ductile iron fittings shall be used. <br />2. All fittings shall be coated with a 6-8 mil nominal thickness fusion bonded epoxy conforming to the <br />requirements of ANSI/AWWA C550 and C116/A21.16. <br />3. All fittings, valves, hydrants and restraining rods shall be protected by using sacrificial zinc anode caps, <br />ASTM B418 6 oz. Large Zinc Anode Caps as manufactured by Trumbull Industries Inc., or an approved <br />equal. Contractors shall supply 2 anode caps per mechanical joint gland installed. <br />4. All fittings, valves, hydrants, etc., shall be secured utilizing COR-BLUE T-BOLTS as manufactured by NSS <br />Industries or approved equal. <br />5. All Restraining devices (megalugs) shall be coated with a 6-8 mil nominal thickness, fusion bonded <br />epoxy conforming to the requirements of ANSI/ AWWA C550 and C116/A21.16. <br />6. Adaptors, back-up rings and oversize sleeves shall be provided for transitions and connections to <br />dissimilar types of pipe materials. All sleeve fittings shall be long mechanical joint. <br />7. All fittings shall have been manufactured in the year of construction or prior calendar year. <br />8. Quality control of all fitting manufacturers shall conform to the requirements of International <br />Organization for Standardization (ISO). <br />2.3 FIRE HYDRANTS <br />A. Hydrants shall be Waterous Pacer model WB-67-250, UL, 250psi rating, traffic flange with break off section <br />as shown on the detail drawings, and conforming to the provisions of CEAM 2611.2B. All hydrants shall <br />have flex -stake markers 4-feet in length or as approved by the owner. The top nut of the hydrant shall be <br />2.5 ft above adjacent grade. <br />B. The drain holes shall be securely plugged where the static groundwater table is higher than the drain hole <br />location on the hydrant. Plugged hydrants shall be marked by painting the 5" cap yellow. <br />C. All hydrants shall have been manufactured in the year of construction or prior two calendar years. <br />1. All hydrant extensions shall be manufactured by the same manufacturer as the hydrant. <br />2. The local fire department shall be contacted before ordering hydrants to obtain the correct nozzle <br />threads and type of operating nut and cap bolts. <br />2.4 VALVE AND VALVE HOUSING <br />A. All water valves shall have been manufactured in the year of construction or prior two calendar years. <br />B. All nuts and bolts shall be 304 stainless steel. <br />C. Valve Housing <br />1. Valve boxes shall be three piece adjustable screw type boxes 60"-90" extension, with a 5 %" shaft size. <br />The word "water" shall be imprinted on each lid. One (1) valve wrench shall be supplied to the utility <br />department for each five (5) valves required on the Project. <br />2. Valves shall have a valve nut extension installed. The extension shall terminate with in one -foot (1') of <br />the finished grade. <br />3. All valve box assemblies shall be furnished with a valve umbrella anchorage assembly.
