SPECIAL PROVISIONS - SP20I6 BOOK <br />Last Revision by CO Special Provisions: 2/08/17 <br />The Precaster will cast all strength cylinders to determine the following: <br />(3.1) Handling or "Stripping" Strength <br />(3.2) Shipping Strength <br />(3.3) Verification <br />Created August 20, 2015 <br />Page 52 <br />SP 0202-101 <br />Cast all cylinders used for determining strength at each stage for all types of precast operations. <br />Cure all cylinders in the same location and under the same conditions as the concrete structure or unit <br />involved meeting the requirements of ASTM C39. <br />S-34 (2503) CONNECT TO EXISTING STORM SEWER <br />This work consists of constructing connections into existing storm sewers in accordance with the <br />applicable MnDOT Standard Specifications and the following: <br />Measurement will be made by the number of connections constructed as specified. Payment will <br />be under Item 2503.602 (Connect to Existing Storm Sewer) at the Contract bid price per each, which shall be <br />compensation in full for all costs incidental thereto, including but not limited to, all materials and labor necessary to <br />connect the proposed drainage structure to the existing storm sewer pipe. Any damage caused to the existing storm <br />sewer pipe shall be repaired at no expense to the Department and to the satisfaction of the Engineer <br />S-35 (2404) CONNECT TO EXISTING WATERMAIN <br />This work consists of constructing connections into existing watermain in accordance with the <br />applicable MnDOT Standard Specifications and the following: <br />Measurement will be made by the number of connections constructed as specified. Payment will <br />be under Item 2504.602 (Connect to Existing Watermain) at the Contract bid price per each, which shall be <br />compensation in full for all costs incidental thereto, including but not limited to, all materials and labor necessary to <br />connect to the existing watermain. Any damage caused to the existing watermain pipe shall be repaired at no <br />expense to the Department and to the satisfaction of the Engineer. <br />S-36 (2504) ADJUST HYDRANT AND VALVE <br />This work shall consist of relocating hydrants and valves with housings after extending the leads, <br />at a location outside of the roadbed, as directed by the Engineer, in accordance with the following: <br />S-36.1 All additional materials furnished under this specification shall be new and like in kind to that in place. <br />S-36.2 Prior to relocation, the hydrant and gate valve shall be cleaned of all foreign matter and after installation <br />shall be disinfected in accordance with the procedures described in paragraphs No.'s 1227 and 1228 of Section XII <br />"Manual of Water Supply Sanitation" of the Minnesota Department of Health. <br />S-36.3 Hydrant and valve relocation will be measured by the number of hydrants installed complete with gate <br />valve and housing as specified. Payment will made under Item 2504.602 (Adjust Hydrant and Valve) at the <br />Contract bid price per each, which shall be compensation in full for all costs incidental thereto including, but not <br />limited to, any additional water leads, drain pits, concrete blocking, extensions, risers or fittings necessary to <br />complete the relocation. <br />S-37 (2504) HYDRANT <br />This work shall consist of installing new hydrants as directed by the Engineer. <br />S-37.1 See Section 02510 for additional hydrant specifications. <br />
