SPECIAL PROVISIONS - SP20I6 BOOK <br />Last Revision by CO Special Provisions: 2/08/17 <br />S-37.2 All materials furnished under this specification shall be new. <br />Created August 20, 2015 <br />Page 53 <br />SP 0202-101 <br />S-37.3 Prior to its installation, the hydrant shall be cleaned of all foreign matter and after installation shall be <br />disinfected in accordance with the procedures described in paragraphs No.'s 1227 and 1228 of Section XII "Manual <br />of Water Supply Sanitation" of the Minnesota Department of Health. <br />S-37.4 Hydrant installation will be measured by the number of hydrants installed complete as specified. Payment <br />will be made under Item 2504.602 (Hydrant) at the Contract bid price per each, which shall be compensation in full <br />for all costs incidental thereto including, but not limited to any additional water leads, drain pits, concrete blocking, <br />extensions, risers or fittings necessary to complete the new installation. <br />S-38 (2504) INSTALL VALVE AND BOX <br />This work shall consist of installing a new valve and box in accordance with the applicable <br />MnDOT Standard Specifications, as detailed in the Plan, and the following: <br />S-38.1 See Section 02510 for additional valve and box specifications. <br />S-38.2 Prior to installation, the valve and box shall be cleaned of all foreign matter and after installation shall be <br />disinfected in accordance with the standard procedures of the Minnesota Department of Health. <br />S-38.3 Measurement will be made by the number of valves and boxes installed as specified. Payment will be <br />made under Item 2504.602 ( " Gate Valve and Box) at the Contract bid price per each, which shall be <br />compensation in full for all costs incidental thereto to install the valve and box complete and inplace. <br />S-39 (2504) ADJUST VALVE BOX <br />This work shall consist of adjusting existing valve boxes to new surface elevations without <br />changing the elevation of the valves. The work shall be performed to the satisfaction of the Engineer in accordance <br />with the following: <br />Measurement will be made by the number of boxes adjusted. Payment will be made under Item <br />2504.602 (Adjust Valve Box) at the Contract bid price per each, which shall be compensation in full for all costs <br />incidental thereto including, but not limited to, furnishing extensions as required and replacing any materials <br />damaged by the Contractor's operations. <br />S-40 (2504) WATERMAIN PIPE AND FITTINGS <br />S-40.1 See Section 02510 for specifications related to watermain pipe and fittings. <br />S-41 (2504) POLYSTYRENE INSULATION <br />This work shall consist of furnishing and installing 4 inch thick insulation board above the <br />watermain at the locations designated in the Plan. This work shall be performed in accordance with the details <br />shown in the Plans, the applicable MnDOT Standard Specifications, and the following: <br />S-41.1 The insulation board shall be rigid expanded polystyrene conforming to the material requirements of <br />MnDOT 3760. Styrofoam S.M. and Styrofoam TG brand insulation is an approved insulation material. <br />S-41.2 The insulation material shall be furnished in panels 1 inch [25 mm] thick and shall be placed on a smooth <br />level foundation in a staggered manner that will provide joint overlaps a minimum of 6 inches [150 mm] on the <br />underlying sheets and the edges shall be trim and square.
