ORDINANCE #04 - <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 7 WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE LICENSING <br />AND PERMITS CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7.20 (BUSINESS REGISTRATION <br />CERTIFICATE) OF THE CITY CODE. <br />The City of Ramsey ordains: <br />SECTION 1. REPEAL <br />Section 7.20 (Business Registration Certificate), shall be repealed. <br />SECTION 2. AMENDMENT <br />Section 7.20 (Business Registration Certificate) shall be replaced with the following text: <br />7.20 Business Registration Certificate <br />7.20.01 General Provisions <br />Subdivision 1. Purpose. The purpose of this Section is to establish a <br />process for the City to obtain and maintain current information on all businesses located <br />in the City. The obtained information will allow the City to be informed as to current <br />occupancy and occupancy changes within buildings, permit the City to update and review <br />records regarding emergency contact lists, fire preplan, inspection, and hazardous <br />materials. The information will permit the City to verify that any business intending to <br />operate within the City shall comply with the State Building Code, the State Fire Code, <br />and local City Code requirements. The City Police Department will be notified of any <br />hazards or security issues that may affect the community's health, safety and welfare. <br />Subd.2. Definitions <br />The following words and phrases, when used in this section, shall have the meanings <br />given there in this section: <br />Person — Means an individual, partnership, corporation, or any body of persons, whether <br />incorporated or formed as an association or not. <br />Business — Means an establishment, occupation, employment, or enterprise where <br />merchandise is manufactured, exhibited or sold, or where services are offered for <br />compensation. <br />
