ADOPT ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />THE BUSINESS REGISTRATION ORDINANCE <br />Case of City of Ramsey <br />By: Megan Wald, Associate Planner <br />Background: <br />US?-LL <br />In 2003 the City Council established an ordinance requiring every business in the City of <br />Ramsey to obtain a Business Registration Certificate (BRC) in order to operate in the City. Staff <br />successfully issued approximately 322 Certificates for the year 2004 with little complication or <br />opposition. The intent of amending the current ordinance is simply to make the purpose section <br />clearer, add a definitions section, and generally clean up the ordinance. <br />The following is enclosed for your information: <br />1. Ordinance amending Business Registration Ordinance <br />Observations: <br />On October 26, 2004, the City Council introduced an ordinance amending Section 7.20 <br />(Business Registration Certificate) of City Code. Staff worked with the City Attorney to provide <br />a consistent format and grammar throughout the ordinance. <br />The ordinance is now ready for adoption. <br />Recommendation: <br />Adopt the ordinance. <br />Council Action: <br />Motion to adopt Ordinance # <br />Review Checklist: <br />City Attorney <br />CC: 11.09.04 <br />amending the Business Registration Ordinance. <br />
