Principal Planner Trudgeon stated there will be no city sewer and water in this area in the near
future. He said plans do not show city sewer and water in the next 20 years. He explained the
City requires all lots to have easements, which is a standard requirement.

Mr. Longfield indicated there is an approximate 7-foot strip of woods that would be maintained
and could buffer their pole shed.

Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Board Member Kociscak, to close the public hearing.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Board Members Kociscak, Brauer, and Reeve.
Voting No: None. Absent: Board Members Johnson, Sweet, and Watson.

The public hearing closed at 8:34 p.m.

Board Business

Chairperson Nixt called the Board of Adjustment meeting back to order at 8:34 p.m.

Chairperson Nixt stated he can empathize with both views. He said he did not want the applicant
to result in an unfunctional flag lot.

Mr. Longfield offered to move the drainfield to the north end of the property.

Chairperson Nixt advised this must be a condition of the variance if granted.

Principal Planner Trudgeon stated if the variance is granted, Mr. Longfield will need to submit a
request for another variance for the minimum road frontage.

Board Member Reeve raised the issue of resubmitting this request after further research on the
setback and frontage requirements.

Chairperson Nixt asked if it would be feasible to wait until July for the Board of Adjustment to
take action on this.

Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Board Member Kociscak, to repeal the closing of the
public hearing and continue the item to the Board of Adjustment meeting July 11.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Board Members Kociscak, Brauer, and Reeve.
Voting No: None. Absent: Board Members Johnson, Sweet, and Watson.

Board of Adjustment/June 6, 2002
