Commissioner Brauer asked Staff to make sure the one year limit to finish the building and <br />getting file cars cleaned out is followed through on. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Van Scoy, Brauer, <br />Jeffrey, Shepherd and Watson. Voting No: None. Absent:' None. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Jeffrey to recommend that City <br />Council approve Michael Mettler's request to exceed the allotted square footage for accessory <br />buildings based on the findings of fact, and adopt a resolution declaring terms of same. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Commissioners Johnson, Jeffrey, Shepherd, Van Scoy and <br />Watson. Voting No: Chairperson Nixt and Commissioner Brauer. Absent: None. <br /> <br />Case #2: <br /> <br />Request for Conditional Use Permit to Exceed the Allotted Square Footage <br />for Accessory Buildings; Case of Eric Thomsen <br /> <br />Presentation <br />Associate Planner Wald advised Eric Thomsen has requested a Conditional Use Permit to exceed <br />the maximum allowable square footage for accessory buildings on the property located at 6210 <br />Green Valley Road NW. She indicated the subject property is approximately 60 acres in size and <br />is located outside the Metropolitan Urban Services Area. She stated according to City Code, the <br />property is eligible for 5,664 square feet of accessory building space. <br /> <br />Associate Planner Wald stated the applicant has a hobby farm on the subject property and needs <br />additional storage space. He is proposing to construct a p.ole building on the subject property <br />that is 5,500 square-feet in size. He indicated the proposed pole building would be utilized for <br />agricultural purposes to accommodate the storage of machinery, hay and grain. She noted for <br />accessory structures related to agricultural uses Conditional Use Permits have been approved <br />with the overages ranging from 2,140 square feet to 26, 395 square feet. She further noted the <br />property is zoned agricultural and does not require a building permit. <br /> <br />Associate Planner Wald stated Staff recommends approval of the request for a Conditional Use <br />Permit. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt asked if there was a maximum size limit, regardless of acreage. <br /> <br />Associate Planner Wald stated anything over 10 acres has a maximum of 5,664 square feet, so <br />regardless if the property is 10 acres or 60 acres that is the maximum allowed. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br />Chairperson Nixt opened the public hearing at 7:38 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Chairperson Nixt to close the public hearing at <br />7:38 p.m. <br /> <br />Planning Commission/September 2, 2004 <br /> Page 4 of 14 <br /> <br /> <br />
