PC CASE <br /> <br />CONSIDER AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE <br />A HUMAN RESOURCES TECHNICIAN <br /> <br />By: Givonna Reed, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On September 28, 2004 staff was given authorization to hire a Human <br />Resources Technician. The position was advertised and approximately 40 <br />applications were received. Six applicants have been interviewed and an <br />additional four applicants will be interviewed Monday, November 22, 2004. <br /> <br />Staff is requesting authorization to hire a Human Resources Technician at an <br />hourly wage not to exceed $17.69. The selected applicant's start date will be on <br />or near December 8, 2004. Staff will present the name of the selected candidate <br />the evening of November 23, 2004, after interviews have been completed. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff is recommending that the Personnel Committee grant authorization to hire <br />a Human Resources Technician at an hourly wage not to exceed $17.69. The <br />name of the selected candidate will be presented at the Personnel Committee <br />the evening of November 23, 2004. This appointment is contingent upon <br />successful completion of criminal and driver's license background checks, <br />reference checks, and passing a pre-employment physical and drug screen. <br />With Council approval, the selected candidate's start date will be on or near <br />December 8, 2004. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />Motion recommending that the selected candidate for the Human Resources <br />Technician be hired at an hourly wage not to exceed $17.69. This appointment <br />is contingent upon successful completion of criminal and driver's license <br />background checks, reference checks, and passing a pre-employment physical <br />and drug screen. All other personnel policies will apply normally.
