Page 3, Q2. 2. How fair and transparent is the current appointing process of commission members? 1 appointment should be discussed between council and current commissioners. The Jan 17, 2013 12:00 PM Chair has knowledge of the boards' weaknesses and strengths that are not readily apparent to Council, and even liasons. The Chair could provide guidance at the Council's discretion. The City should go back to having Ward representation on the commissions. 5 Forcing a sitting member to reapply is asinine! Frankly, it's insulting to incumbents 8 If a commission member's term is up and they are doing a good job, just reappoint them rather than going through a process of interviewing others for the position. Desire to serve, living in Ramsey, and some knowledge are paramount. The biggest requirement is living here, which would make a member valued due to knowing who, what, where, why and when impacts their daily lives.
